Men in Nyando, Nyakach and Muhoroni districts are encouraged to get circumcised in a bid to boost the war against HIV/Aids, according to impact research and development organization's area mobilize Joseph shitemi.

There an urgent need to reduce new infections among teenagers and young couples. So far over 1,850 fishermen from Kusa, Sangorota,Ogenya and Singida beaches voluntarily turned up for the exercise during November- December since it is believed they always trade fish for sex.

Shitemi who addressed the public at tuungane youth center in ahero says their next target is the sugar belt especially cane cutters since they are most vulnerable and often fall prey to cheap and unprotected sex. He however, urged the luo community to avoid myths that might derail the process. It is believed that circumcision reduce chances of infection by up to 60% according to the latest research.
