Q & A
Access to Continental House
RIVERS MIRIU, OMBEYI, NYANDO AND ETC
CDF OFFICE LAND
Mar 17, 2010 - Access to Continental House
Q: From - Eugine Ochieng
Sometimes when one want to talk to you he knows why he want you face to face. Do not overlook at us that way now. Your secretary (continental house) is very hash especially when he note that one want to see you. You are our eyes if one blindfold you how do we see? otherwise I congratulate you of what you\'ve done in nyando and I warn you TUACHE UBARAKALA. We are you and you are us, warn your surbodinates of EGOISM.
A:
Eugine Ochieng,
It is very unfortunate how you delibaretly tear into ones dignity and integrity without adequate information on the parliamentary office procedures. It is absolutely demeaning to try soil ones reputation for no apparent reason.
Parliament has set procedures that have to be followed before one gains access into the precincts. The personal Assistant has no authority to bring one into the constituency office without the approval of the member of Parliament. This is done, when he, The MP signs a card to authorise any visitor into his office - The card which is in the custody of the sergents - at arms.
At no given time can a Personal Assistant allow a guest into the premises without a duly filled and signed card by the Member of Parliament.
Your claims are therefore very unfounded and absolutely unwarranted. The best you could have done is to confirm the procedures before making such unfounded allegations.
You also need to understand that much of the work is done through the constituency office based in Ahero from Friday to Monday - A time I have set aside to attend to constituents. Otherwise, we are in Parliament for debates in between Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Kindly watch not to abuse the priviledge of direct communication on the net by stating the unwarranted. Let us stick to development issues and such that affect the constituency.
Thank you a lot.
January 5th, 2010 - RIVERS MIRIU, OMBEYI, NYANDO AND ETC
Q: From - Otieno Wagah
Hon, It's my humble request that your office needs to do something about those rivers mentioned above. I'm tired of being displaced each and every time when rain comes. We should make water our friend not our enemy and this can be achieved if the water in the river are given proper channels of flowing.
A:
I share in your concern as far as the effects of flooding are concerned. One thing we must understand is that the monetary provisions (C.D.F) is bound by the by laws and we have percentages for every sector. The amount we are allowed to use on agricultural sector that includes river rehabilitation is very limited. However, we are doing the much that we can to manage the flood.
Otherwise, this is a national disaster that should be handled by the ministry of special programs and we are coordinating relevant ministries to help. River Nyando cuts across several constituencies.
We hope that the government will soon avail adequate funding to rehabilitate the rivers and create dykes to curb the flooding.
January 5th, 2010 - CDF OFFICE LAND
Q: From - Otieno Wagah
Thanks for the good job Mheshimiwa
Is it true that the CDF intend to acquire an office land and if so where?
Reliable sources indicate that a cheque was drawn ON 30/12/09 from the CDF account for Kes 2,000,000 for Land Office project.
A:
Its true that C.D. F is acquiring land for office. It is not anything done in secrecy. It is as open as all other projects that we undertake. This is a project that was listed in the 2008/2009 project proposals and is underway.
For more info, contact our office based in Ahero Bible Centre and you can even be shown to the place. The land is for the constituency.
