18th Jan. 2012 - Kadibo Division on the electoral and boundaries review By: Otieno Wagah
Following a meeting of all leaders of Kadibo Division held on the 17/01/2012 the following were resolved.
Kadibo Division be separated from Nyando Constituency and be made part of Kisumu East Constituency because that is where Kadibo's historical background lies.
The reasons for this resolution kadibo is currently part of Kisumu East District Administratively, separation of Kadibo Division from Nyando Division was not peaceful. People fought and many died and we would not like a repeat of the same. The people of Nyando Division have a historical hatred for people of Kadibo and the two cannot live together peacefully.
Kadibo current population stand at 114,100 and projected to be 120,800 people by 2015. The historical events that culminated into separation of West Kano from East are still fresh in memory...More...

16TH Jan, 2012 - ELDERS OPINION By: D. Anyanga
Clan elders, opinion leaders and politicians from Kadibo division have threatened to decamp ODM should they be forced to vote in Nyando constituency. A meeting convened today at rabuor chiefs camp to discus the preliminary boundary report recently released by the independent electoral and boundaries commission resolved that Kadibo be taken to Kisumu east constituency and district or alternatively merge them with Kolwa, Buoye and Chiga wards to bring back the lost winam constituency that was scrapped in 1980's.
The meeting convened by Kadibo development association, chaired by Gordon Okal brought together more than a hundred and fifty leaders from all clans in Kadibo. On the issue of wards, the leaders unanimously agreed that a re alignment be done to the boundaries to create Kabonyo/Kanyagwal and Kobura wards to suit all clans instead of the proposed Kawino and K'ochieng that they say might disintegrate clans.
MP spirant Fred Otieno Waga took issue with the current MP blaming him for imposing boundaries on Kadibo people for personal political gains and failing to respect interest of the majority, he however vowed to rally support from all corners, unite Kadibo people to speak in one voice to improve livelihoods of common wananchi. The meeting came only a few days before the Kisumu county public hearing on boundaries on 23rd Jan. 2012.

13TH Jan, 2012 - AGONY OF PARENTS IN NYANDO By: D. Anyanga
Parents and guardians seeking birth certificates at the Nyando district headquarters in Awasi are appealing to the area district commissioner to intervene and save them from continued harassment by clerical officers at the district registry.
It is alleged that the officers ask for huge sums of money before processing the certificates claiming that only a few copies are left and are only given to those who bribe while parents who pay the required ksh 150 are delayed, agonize on the long queue and asked to come back after three weeks.
More than 100 parents sought audience with commissioner Isaiah Tonui to find the best way forward for the stalemate bedeviling the department, they also cited the rising number of conmen confusing and pretending to help parents around awasi market. The commissioner however promised to look into the matter and suspects apprehended.
